Text Effect Tutorial - Gloss Factor

Hey guys, I'm just going to show a simple tutorial for getting a different gloss effect with your texts by working with brushes and layer blending options.

I'm using the KiloGram Font for this and I'll be setting my base color as #0074ae. Try using something slightly darker as it usually turns out better.

Now go ahead and hold down the Ctrl button while you click on the layer to highlight the outline of the text. Grab a soft brush (size depends on the size of the font you are using, I will be using 90px. Change the color to white and start brushing around till you get something like this:

Now do the same thing again this time use a color that's just outside of the color range you are working with but nice and bright. I'm using #00ffd8. Set the blending mode to "Screen" and work with it till you get something alone this line:

Add some finishing touches such as outline highlights and a little sharpening and your done!

Stock & Samples Informations

Well hey everyone, it's Dan from Kooji. Last Friday, the 15th of August we received samples for 5 of the 7 designs we had laid out for our first release. They late by nearly half a month, but what can we do? We have little power over what goes on in the factories since we don't plan to silk screen 450 shirts ourselves since we have day jobs and things to do, places to go and people to see.

All in all, we're pretty satisfied with what we got. Some problems that we are having a hard time grasping and understanding as to why they did not follow our instructions and references deeply puzzles us and has left us hanging between having good ethics or going "business is business".

We are discussing the problems amongst ourselves and our close friends as it is something of no joking matter considering the fact that some of us have put a lot of money into this. We are unable to set a date for when the shirts will be released.

As of right now due to some issues including having a laptop with a fucked up mother board and a comp that is so old that it has dust coming out of every hole in the tower :P I am unable to continue working on the Kooji website and get the domain name done.
